Door Handles

As much work as we've done, there
aren't a lot of pictures to show. This weekend we bought baseboards, door trim and a new window and handle for the front door.

The front door may not seem like a lot of work. But it was. We wanted to buy a new one, but being an old house, the door is a funny size and we would have paid 3x as much for a custom door. So we decided to paint, remove and replace the window, replace hinges and add a new doorknob/ handle. It looks so much better. We also got a new handle for the storm door. I also don't like the storm door, but we face that pesky custom- cost thing with it as well.

We now have doorknobs on downstairs too!

Today I have been painting; baseboards, inside window frames, closet doors and shelves. My right arm is sore.

Bryan has been cutting trim for inside the windows, remaking our door and making a million trips to the hardware store.

We are also really lucky to have had Bryan's mom out to watch the kids today so we could get more done.

Now onto baseboards, door trims and a lot more painting. I can't wait for the basement to finally be truly done, and not just liveable.
